i930 out in December? Man as soon as the new Treo 650 is out I'll cancel my Nextel account. All other carrier had their cameraphone out for 2 yearsnowNextel is just coming out with one. Beside their phonearestill huge compare to others.
    Bad bad marketing.
    Just my 2 cents,

1.well the direct connect ok, but only to other nextel users. Beside if you use the "group connect" then you get charged. if you use the national connect you get charged too. So basically direct connect unlimited for home area. I used my national direct connect and I got charged, the call initiator gets charged. This alone sucks.

    2. most other phones have camera, video and audio recorder and BT, nextels i830, i860, i930 don't have BT. The SDIO slot is only on i930. but most other smartphone have them. Only the i930 is iden/gsm not the others and just because of that the size increases to the size of i90 which i have and for todays standard is relatively big if not huge. Basically the only plus in Nextel (beside the fact that if you're a heavy direct connect home area user) is the unlimited incoming calls that no one else has.
    Cheers,

Am I the only one who would love Nextel without direct connect...

    Hey,

How many of you would really love NEXTEL to just give us cool phones without the damn "direct connect" - which in my opinion is perhaps the most annoying and useless technology ever devised.

I never use direct connect because I have unlimited calling. I can't stand the lousy radio feature - do you feel the same way?

Let me know! Let Nextel know! Give us an option - let us use phones on the network that are not wired in to the radio feature.

    Eric

One thing you seem not to think of or maybe you do not use it, but the internet is run off the radio band, hence you do not use your mins for internet usage, witch is a key issue. It makes life so easy to be able to check email from anywhere.
