Do you have GPRS service activated?
If not, then there would be no purpose of sending the file to email. Ok you're thinking that the phone should flash on the screen "One Email Message Received". Usually, that's not possible, except for phones with email clients built in.
:looks towards the 6800, T310, p900 etc:
If GPRS is activated then you should not have a problem accessing mail through them. Note: Hotmail is not accessible through WAP, but yahoo(i think), rediffmail(that's www.rediff.com on PC and http://rediff.com on cell), and indiatimesmail(www.indiatimes.com on PC and http://indiatimes.com on cell). You need the PC to signup(obvious!), and send the actual mail.
Why can't you check mail there? If WoG(that's Wap over Gprs) is active then theoretically (and practically) you can check mail anywhere in the world. What you lookin' here for ehhh?

Well for 1 i dont want to check my email with my phone i just want to be able to send ringtones and picures to it. My service provider does not support GPRS yet. so i was wondering if i could send ringtones to my phone using its email address u know your number at your service provider site.
i dont want to buy a data cable that cost like 300 dollars for just ring tones.
Oh and i do get alerts when i receive a email i use yahoo alerts for that. just cant check them using the phone.

If you want to get games and tones on your phone without a cable the easiest way is to do the following
1- signup with a free webhost like geocities.com or freewebs.com
2- go to www.tagtag.com and sign up for your onw wapsite
3- in tag tag make i direct link the the game/tone/pic on your wapsite
4-browse to your game over wap or gprs (both fine gprs jus faster)
5-click on the link
6-file is downloaded to your fone

There is no GPRS service down here. GSM service was introduced last year and GSM phones cannot access the internet. The email address i am talking about is not like yahoo or hotmail it is used to send and receive sms messages from phone to phone.

Unfotunately if the e-mail address is only for sms and you cant get onto the internet at all with your phone then a data cable seems the only option sory but games require mobile internet to download and u need gprs for multimedia messaging to work. perhaps you could try using the sim from a network that supprts the internet to get the stuff onto your phone

hmm getting a sim like that is kida close to impossible money required to get would make it alot vheaper to get the cable. well thanks for the information.
