well...I own N82 and what I can say that it's somekind of hybrid beetwen N81 and N95..I just hope Nokia will soon release its 8GB version. In my opinion, 1 GB is not enough

    Hi Nikitos,

I've recently purchased a Black N82 with Orange (you'll have to hurry up if you want one, as the stock are short in the UK) on a 24 month contract. That alone says how much confidence I have in this phone. Like you, I was in the same position, assessing the phone for pros and cons. I can guarantee you that the N82 is probably THE best phone on the market at the moment. Call me biased but I can justify this with the following:

    - Build Quality - Obviously the phone assumes the candybar format as opposed to the popular slide format the N95 adopts. This doesn't pose any problems and allows for a slimmer shape, making it much more pocket friendly than the bulky N95. I have read some complaints about the keys being too small but I personally feel that this is a petty complaint and doesn't really affect the experience at all. The phone is much more solid than the N95 and surprisingly light. The layout of buttons is perfect and the unnecessary multimedia keys on the N95 won't be missed.

    - Camera - There are alot of 5 megapixel cameras out there, but photo quality isn't just about the resolution capacity, the lense has to be good as does the phone's software that handles the data. Boasting a Tessar 2.8/5.6 Carl Zeiss lens, it provides much crisper photos than the N95 (both models) with much less time delay between the point you press the button and when you see the preview. The Xenon flash (as opposed to the LED flash on the N95) provides an impressive level of light, vastly improving night photographs, matching the quality of most professional digital cameras. The video is also excellent but I won't go into that.

    - Other features - The phone also boasts Wi-fi capabilities, GPS and a wealth of impressive features that run smoothly with the N82's massive amount of RAM. If you look on youtube, you'll see that the phone can actually run ALL of it's applications at the same time without running out of memory or crashing. As far as the phone's longetivity is concerned- the operating system is top notch, capable of installing games and more or less any application that you can think of, it's essentially a computer in your pocket, it's so versatile to change. The onboard N-Gage that you may be interested in displays fantastic quality games. Of course, the music and video players allow you to keep all your favourite tracks and films in your pocket... If not in your pocket, you can use the TV-out cable provided to play N-gage games, watch videos and listen to music on a 42 inch plasma should you want to.

    - Memory - This isn't an issue at all!! The phone comes with a 2GB memory card and it will even take an 8GB memory card which are actually pretty cheap these days, you could easily pick one up for under £20 on ebay. Don't know where that 1GB comment came from?

If you can find a better phone on the market specification wise, I'd love to hear about it, otherwise buy this now!! Whatever the market has to offer in the next couple of years simply isn't worth upgrading for! Yeah the cameras and memory will get better but so will the prices. This phone is an underappreciated bargain.

Feel free to drop me any more questions

I own N82 from the past one year and i have enjoyed every bit of it.N82 is one of the best phones made by Nokia. It is a complete phone with highest quality standards in each department. It is the first Nokia phone that comes with Xenon Flash.Xenon flash helps to take excellent quality pictures in low light conditions. The video quality is excellent and i prefer taking videos than pictures.Videos are recorded in 640x480 Resolution at 30 fps and can be seen fullscreen on TV via TV Output.
Many of the reviewers complain about the tiny keypad on N82, but believe me once you get used to the keypad it is very easy to type at high speed.
