Is it normal that N97 Mini gets really hot when making calls?

I just bought N97 mini from Newegg. The strange thing is it gets hot very quickly(usually in 5 minutes) when in use, making me uncomfortable to use any of its functions for too long. I wonder if it is normal for a smartphone to get hot so fast? Is it battery's problem?

i didnt have any n97 but i dont think its normal to get hot so fast.

i had it, but returned it and bought a i8910 omnia hd instead

There is some problem with inbuilt IC which needs to be checked!

its not normal m8 only time they get hot is when ur downloading real big files or useing sat nav the gps chip gets hot

no its not normal.. there could be something wrong with the battery

it should be the resistors, probably not fixed properly, so they overheat, you need a thorough examination to be entirely sure to ascertain the cause

Anyway, regardless, it is NEVER normal for a phone to get so hot so quickly by just making or getting phone calls. I've heard of similar issues where it can be fixed by a firmware update but it would be safer and will give you peace of mind if you have it checked by a professional
