Shipments have begun for the Nokia N8. Nokia's Senior Vice President, Jo Harlow had this to say:
With the N8, and the new Symbian software, we are bringing a familiar, faster and more intuitive user experience to the worlds most popular smartphone platform. The Nokia N8 has received the highest amount of consumer pre-orders in Nokia history and we are thrilled to start shipments of the N8, the first of Nokias new Symbian smartphone range.
The Nokia N8 smartphone will come in 5 different colors: Green, Blue, Silver White and Dark Grey and will have a 12MP sensor featuring Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash that will allow users to record videos with HD quality.
Users who have already pre-ordered the Nokai N8 from Nokia Online Shops and Nokia Stores will be first in line while others will have to wait a few weeks after.

Finally!! I have been planning to get one from timtechs and now I can finally get my hands one I'm so excited!

These days iphone 4 is the most popular. In the images N8 is looking so good.

Just in case anyone is undecided and put off by having to wait "a few weeks", at least in the US there is no wait. I ordered one Sunday morning (10/10) from the Nokia (OVI) store. Frankly, I expected it to be a pre-order since Nokia had not announced that real orders in the US were now available (that announcement came later in the day). To my great surprise, the phone arrived at my home on Tuesday afternoon (10/12). So much for "a few weeks".
The surprise was even sweeter because I really like the phone! It does everything that they say it will and I have been comparing it to my daughter's iPhone 3GS. So far I am really happy to have the N9. (Note that I am a Nokia fan - I've had good luck with their products and I won't buy a phone locked to one network for my use. I travel a lot and like to insert a local SIM when I get to a new country. YMMV!)

That's a real surprise since it is out in the US already and Nokia is not strong in the US market whereas the UK is a significant market for Nokia. Originally Posted by kiminski Not released until 22 Oct here in the UK.
