nokia 6085 sim card

I bought a refurbished Nokia 6085. I put in the SIM card and charged the phone. When I turn it on it says: No Sim Card Inserted.

what should I do? I tried this about 4 times. it looks to me like the Sim card is inserted fine.

also the phone is "unlocked"

Are you sure the sim card you are using works correctly? Is it new or did it come from another phone. Check the contacts on the sim and the phone as well to see if they are dirty.
