Back Up App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your Google account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data to be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
  3. Tap the account type and account you want to use for syncing
  4. Tick the “Contacts” check box
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the Google backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Nokia device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Nokia 7 to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the media backup files on the PC storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory of origin
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
