Copying midi files to Nokia phones
-
Hi, I have an infra red usb port on my pc, and when i out my phone near it, it detects the Nokia 6610.
Question is, does anyone know how to copy a midi file over to the phone?
When I try and use the thing built in to XP - it tells me the connection failed which is pretty annoying....

I believe I had the exact problem, download the PCSuite for your phone. I have a 6100 and when I was downloading PCSuite from nokia's site(or some other) I accidentaly downloaded it for another phone and mine wouldn't be detected properly.

You will have to use the Nokia PC Suite from Nokia
simply download the version that supports your phone (it will be shown on the page you are downloading)
Then you can use the Sound Convertor to send the midi to your phone
I hope that this can help you.

In my opinion...
I think its depend on your driver.
My adapter is:
MA-620 USB Infrared Adapter, to connect from phones to PC. The CD rom inside the packages contains the device driver for diferent operating system and diferent handset manager system.
My phone is Nokia 6610. When the handphone i try to connect to the infrared (theinfrared harware looks like a mouse with 2 led but more smaller), then the infrared blinking fast, it tell us the connection is ready or ok. The distance between 1-3 cm. Sometimes to close can't connect, it become confuse. Then i use the softwarei got from the infra red to upload and download the ringtones or the picture.
Maybe you can tell more specific about your driver, your hardware name, brand, PC suit version, maybe we can help you.
