I own 7210. In my PcSuite I set my .mid file to 3 instruments with 2 channels each. Upload via IR is successfull. But when I try to open it, it says Unable to open MIDI. Why? I have noticed that the problem is in the Percussion instrument. Why. 99% of MIDI fiels including Percussion instrument works beautifull.

i was having the same problem. The files have to be shorter than 13kb in order for it work. so all you have to do is cut the midi files shorter with the program PSMPLAY.

the lenght of the mid doesn't matter.... I have a mid thats 26,7 kb and another that is 14,2 kb and they work just fine. I also have one mid that ´my phone (7210) can't open but don't know the reason....

in most cases, u are sending a general midi instead of a sp-midi to the 7210, which happens to suppor tonly 4poly sp-midi. use nokia converter to convert into sp-midi before sending.

Otherwise, if u seriously think it's the percussion, it maybe that the percussion sound map maybe too difficult for the phone to play. use psm 3.8 and above and open the midi. check the drum settings. if it contains too many drum + cymbals, try removing some to make it simpler.

    re-beam to phone and try.
    good luck

It doesn't matter is it normal or sp mid, except some of the normal mid's channels doesn't play, but even in that case some of the channels work...
