Back Up and Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up Wi-Fi passwords, app data, and settings to your Google account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, passwords, and settings to be automatically restored when signing in with the backup account
Back Up and Restore Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for backing up the contacts
- Tick the Contacts check box and tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you sign in with your backup account and syncing them with your device.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or form the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and transfer the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it form the USB port
