Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
  5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when your reinstall apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Select the account you want to use for syncing
  5. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you log in with your backup account or by manually syncing the device with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the PC
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folder(s) of origin
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
