Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with your backup account or when reinstalling applications
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Contacts
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for syncing the contacts
- Ensure the Contacts check box is ticked
- When ready, tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account, or by manually syncing the account data -including contacts- with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and paste the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
