Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Go to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, passwords, and settings to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or the next time you log in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Got to Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for contact syncing
- Ensure Contacts is checked then tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts backed up this way can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data and contacts- with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the phone and computer
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media backup files on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
