Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. Access “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Location”
  4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Access “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature

Switch to 2G Connectivity Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can try and conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Expand “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Go to “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your apps and accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps”
  3. Switch to “All apps” if necessary
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable “to turn the app off
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available for download
  5. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update
