Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” On or Off
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Battery”
  3. Tap “menu’
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity Off when features like Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth are not actively in use, in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Access “Location” for GPS options and tap “Mode”
  5. Enable “Battery saving” and return to “Settings”
  6. Expand “Wireless & Networks” and disable “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

Switch to 2G Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you can’t quickly recharge it, you can temporarily switch to 2G networks to conserve energy until the next recharge.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile network”
  4. GO to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. Thus by removing or disabling unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings” and access “Apps”
  2. Switch to “All apps” and select the desired app
  3. To turn the app off, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
  4. To remove the app, tap “uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts” and select an account type
  3. Tap the desired account
  4. Change the available sync options to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can provide battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available
  5. Follow the prompts to download and install updates
