Hey, guys. Just wondering what the best type of blackberry is. I'm looking to get a new phone (I have a RAZR V3 right now) around September 12. I was going to get the Blackberry Curve 8310, but my dad got it, and I don't really want the same phone as he does. And I looked at it, and I didn't really like it in my hands. I was thinking something like the 8820 or the 8800. I do a lot of texting, but I don't browse the internet or whatever. Just wanted to know if anyone knew about blackberries if they could help me out. Thanks. Oh and I'm with Cingular.

If you like to text then the 8830 has a full QWERTY keyboard that's really easy to text on.... I really like the feature of holding down a key to capitalize that letter.... way better then when I used Motorola and had to press the "0" key everytime I wan't a cap letter!

Howdy jzrith,
If it were me, I would head to a local store selling the BB I wanted. Ask to put my SIM in the phone and use it like I would at home/school/work. I will assume that you already have a texting plan, so text away while you are at the store. This way you get to see how the keyboard feels to you (forget what the phone looks like until you know how it feels while doing what you normally do).
Go early in the day (right after they open is always a good time, less people in the store). And it may take a few days to go through all the models you want to try out, but then you have waited this long, why not be sure what works for you, rather than what someone else has or thinks (remember you already don't want what you Dad has)
Oh and if you don't look like you have money... drag along your Dad, makes the sales droids perk up a bit.

Re: Need help picking/choosing.
I have the Pearl 8130 and I love it! The full QWERTY keyboard is great, and it has "Smart" type, where it will capitalize the first word in the sentence for you, and a quick tap of the # button will cap the next letter you type. It's not too small, and has a speaker phone option if you don't want to put it up to your head. It also learns your typing habits, and will suggest words you've used before and put caps where you need them. I hope you find the phoen you're going to love like I did
