I am currently with BellMobility and have never used a smartphone...I am trying to decide between a BlackBerry (with Bell) or an Iphone, which would require me to switch over to Rogers....I have heard many good reviews regarding the Iphone but I'm unsure about Rogers phone service as compared to Bell....I also feel that I am being overcharged by Bell.....I am looking for any information and comparisons between a BB and Iphone....as well as about Bell and Rogers data plans and service....any suggestions would be appreciated

    Re: BlackBerry VS. IPhone

Can't comment on Rogers vs. Bell service & network, but I can speak to both device types from just south of the border in the States. There are many ways to differentiate the BB from the iPhone, but I guess the bottom line is that if you are a consumer and don't need this for Corporate stuff, go with the iPhone 3GS - everyone I know who has one loves the device (they just don't love the AT&T network that it comes with, but are still willing to use the device). If you need Corporate/Exchange email, but would also like to have cool consumer featuers, go with a Blackberry Curve/Bold/Tour, as they are excellent, reliable devices. Having said that, I think Bell just launched the Pre, and that should be one serious alternative consideration for you. I would describe the Pre as the cross-section of the BB & iPhone. The OS, touchscreen UI, and multi-tasking is very nice to have. Battery life is weak like all devices that require so much horsepower these days. The Pre has some of the popular apps, and so does Blackberry, but Apple apps certainly lead that way in the marketplace if that's what you're going to prioritize.

    Re: BlackBerry VS. IPhone

I would base my decision soley on the fact that blackberry vs iphone is a lifestyle choice. Having said that, I agree with SAR0609.

However, it isnt to say that the blackberry is strictly business as the iphone is also compatible in that realm. I'd go with the iphone for versatility.

    Re: BlackBerry VS. IPhone

I am personally in favor with the blackberry but that is because the touchscreen is just not my thing. I've had multiple brands of phones over the years including touch screens, but 2 years ago I tried out the blackberry and I can't imagine switching back to any other brands.
