Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep”
  6. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Go back to “Settings”
  4. Access “Location” and tap “Mode”
  5. Enable “Battery saving”
  6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Apps’ > “All apps’
  3. Select the desired app
  4. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your account’s settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type
  4. Tap the desired account
  5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if new updates are available for download
  5. If so, follow the prompts to download and apply the update(s). Note that the update process will require to reboot the phone at least once
