Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Ensure “Contacts’ is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android device.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once the process completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the PC
  5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage in the folders from where they originate
  6. After the process completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
