Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Device” and access “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Launch “Settings”
  4. Go to “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  5. For timeout settings access “Sleep”
  6. Select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Location” (GPS), tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
  6. Tap and disable “Tethering & portable hotspot”

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Access “Mobile networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type”
  5. Enable “2G”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps you might improve battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access “Apps”
  3. Switch to “All apps” if necessary
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
  5. To remove the app, tap “uninstall”

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “About phone” > “System updates”
  3. Check if new updates are available
  4. If updates are available, follow the prompts to download and apply them
