Re: Which songs make good ringtones?
One thing this thread proves: There are as many ideas of what makes a good ringtone as there are phone users.
Myself, I tend to use older, more obscure tunes that Iike. Some classics, and some that nobody ever freakin' heard of. Hidden Content
Ren Cummins' rendition of 'Greensleeves' is a good example. Everybody knows that tune, but nobody else has heard that version. Sad, really, because it's one of the best around. Another one I use is 'Song of the Volga Boatmen', a traditional Russain folksong. It's a fitting piece, if you know the history behind it. It's about the ultimate drudge job. I use it for when my office calls.
The idea is, that when my phone rings in a crowded office, on a train, or wherever, I know if it's mine or not. No need to check the phone, or think about it.

Agree! I used the first ehh 5ish seconds of "The Good Life" by Three Days Grace for a ringone and about the first 3 seconds of "Today" by Smashing Pumpkins for a text tone! I usually use something more upbeat for ring tone and something more subdued for text tone...err no idea if that helps but I tried! Hidden Content
