Wi-Fi Networking

Enabling Wi-Fi and Joining a Network:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Press the "On / Off" button next to Wi-Fi in order to enable option
  4. An automatic network scanning process should commence. Once done, select the network that you wish to join. If prompted, type-in the network's password.

Joining a Wi-Fi Network Manually:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the home screen and go to "Settings"
  2. Make sure that Wi-Fi is enabled
  3. Once the automatic scanning is complete, scroll down (if necessary) and tap on "Add Wi-Fi network"
  4. Type-in the name of the Wi-Fi Network that you wish to join in the "Network Name (SSID)" field
  5. Select the type of security in the "Security" field
  6. Tap the "Password" field and type in the network's password
  7. Press "Save" if you wish your phone to remember these settings

Enabling Wi-Fi Direct:

Wi-Fi Direct is a feature that allows smartphones to connect to each other via Wi-Fi without the need of an existing Wi-Fi network or mobile hotspot. (Also known as "peer-to-peer")

  1. Access the "Settings" menu
  2. Enable Wi-Fi (if necessary)
  3. Tap on "Wi-Fi" and then press "Wi-Fi Direct". (Keep in mind that your other device must have Wi-Fi Direct enabled at this point)
  4. A list of available devices should now appear on the screen. Select the device you wish to connect to, or tap "Multi-connect" if you wish to connect multiple handsets
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions on all of the devices that you wish to connect

Accessing Other Wi-Fi Settings:

  1. Open the "Settings" panel and tap on "Wi-Fi"
  2. Press the "Menu" capacitive button on your smartphone
  3. Select "Advanced". A new menu will appear on-screen giving you access to various options such as "Network Notifications", "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep", "Wi-Fi timer", as well as access to your phone's MAC address and IP address.


Bluetooth Features


Enabling Bluetooth and Pairing With another Bluetooth Device:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the display
  2. Select "Settings" and tap the "On / Off" corresponding to "Bluetooth" in order to enable this feature
  3. To pair up, tap "Scan".
  4. In the list of detected devices, tap the device with which you wish to pair. If necessary, type-in the target device's PIN or Password then press "OK"


DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) Features


DLNA enables the users to share files with nearby devices via a Wi-Fi network.

Enabling DLNA File Sharing:

  1. Access the "app drawer" and go to "Settings"
  2. Tap "More settings" and press "Nearby devices"
  3. Select "File sharing" to enable or disable the option.


Note: DLNA should be disabled when not in use in order to prevent unwanted connections!

To configure File Sharing over DLNA follow steps 1 and 2, then select the desired settings under "Advanced".

- "Shared contents" lets you to choose the type of content allowed to be shared
- Tap on "Device name" to view and / or modify your handset's DLNA name
- To view and manage handsets that are allowed your device, tap "Allowed devices list"
- "Not-allowed devices list" lets you view and manage smartphones that are restricted to connect to your device
- To select the file download location, press "Download to"
- To change the way of handling incoming files from other devices, tap "Upload from other devices"
