Taking Sound and Shot Photos

This option allows you to capture a photo and also record an audio background associated with the scene. To turn on the Sound & shot option, follow the next steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then tap Camera -> tap Mode and touch the Sound & shot thumbnail.
  3. Now all you need to do is frame your subject and tap the screen to focus a specific area.
  4. When the focal point turns green, tap the shutter button to take the photo.
  5. The photo will be captured and 9 seconds of auto background will be recorded at the same time.
  6. When viewing the photo in your gallery, tap the Sound & shot icon to also play the audio.

Taking an Animated Photo

With the Animated photo feature allows you capture a photo that contains moving and static objects.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then tap Camera -> tap Mode and touch the Animated photo thumbnail.
  3. Frame your subject and tap the specific area on the screen that you would like to focus.
  4. After the focal point turns green, tap the shutter button.
  5. You can capture as many as 5 seconds of video.
  6. If you don’t want your animated photo to be 5 seconds long, tap stop whenever you want to.
  7. After the cinamagraph screen is captured, tap Animate and using your ginger, swipe the area on the screen that you would like to animate.
  8. Then tap Freeze and using your finger select the area on the screen that you don’t want to be animated.
  9. To edit the length of the animation, tap Trim.
  10. You can also select the direction of the animation by tapping Direction -> then select from Forwards, Back and forth or Backrwards.
  11. When you’re happy with the result, tap Save.
  12. The photo will be saved as a .GIF file.

Taking a Drama Photo

Using the Drama photo feature you can take a series of pictures of a moving subject and then merge them into a single picture. To turn the Drama photo option on, follow the next steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then tap Camera -> tap Mode and touch the Drama thumbnail.
  3. Frame your subject and since you shouldn’t move your smartphone, leave enough space to capture the movement of your subject.
  4. When ready, tap the shutter button.
  5. Your device will detect the movement and the subject will be merged into a single picture spanning the movement range.

Using Best Photo

The Best photo takes up eight pictures and selects the one that looks best.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then tap Camera -> tap Mode and touch the Best photo thumbnail.
  3. Frame your subject and tap the shutter button to capture the photos.
  4. You Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will capture a succession of 8 pictures and when you will be shown the review screen to see the photos that have been taken.
  5. To scroll through additional photos, swipe left or right.
  6. To add pictures to the best photo list, tap and hold a thumbnail.
  7. When finished, tap Save to keep the selected pictures and discard the rest.

Taking a Photo Using Beauty Face

Using Beauty Face, after you capture a portrait, your device will automatically adjust the picture and will make it more visually pleasing.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then tap Camera -> tap Mode and touch Beauty face thumbnail.
  3. Frame your subject and since you shouldn’t move your smartphone, leave enough space to capture the movement of your subject.
  4. When ready, tap the shutter button.
