Managing Accounts
Adding an Email Account Manually:
- While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Go to the "General" tab
- Tap "Accounts" and then tap "Add Account"
- Tap "Email"
- Type in your email address and password
- Tap "Manual setup"
- Select one of the following options: "POP3 account", "IMAP account", "Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync"
- Enter the incoming email configuration settings as required
- Press "Next"
- Enter the outgoing email configuration settings as required, and then tap "next"
- Optionally, enter an account name
- Tap "Done"
Adding a Gmail Account:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Apps" icon
- Tap the "Google" bundle
- Tap "Gmail". Note: if you have already logged in to a Gmail account but you wish to add a new one, press the "Menu" button > "Settings" > "General " > "Accounts" and then tap "Add account"
- Tap "Existing"
- Tap the "Email" field and enter your email. Type in your password in the appropriate field
- Tap the "Next" arrow
- Press "OK" in the pop-up window
- Read the "Backup and restore" info, and tap the "Next" arrow
- Tap "Sync settings" or "Sync now"
Deleting an Email Account:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Accounts", select an account type
- Press your "email address" located at the top of the screen
- Tap "Remove account", then tap it again to confirm
Incoming Notification Management
Enabling / Disabling Gmail Notifications:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Go to "Gmail"
- Press the "Menu" key and then tap "Settings"
- Select your "email address"
- Mark or unmark the check box associated with "Notifications" to enable or disable email notifications
- Tap "Sound & vibrate" if you wish to adjust the notification settings that include the notification tone or haptic feedback
Enabling / Disabling Notifications for the "Email" App:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Select and open "Email"
- Press the "Menu" key and tap "Settings"
- Tap your email address
- Mark or unmark the check box associated with "Email notifications" to enable or disable this feature
- Optionally, tap "Select ringtone" to select the notification tone. Tap "Vibrate" to enable or disable haptic feedback
Email Message Management
Attaching a File and Sending an Email via Gmail:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Select "Gmail"
- Tap the "Compose" icon
- In the "To" field, type in the recipient's email address
- Enter a subject in the "Subject" field
- Type in your message in the "Compose email" field
- To attach a file, press the "Menu" button and select either "Attach picture" or "Attach video"
- Select the location of the file that you wish to attach "Gallery" or "Dropbox"
- Navigate to and select the desired file
- Tap the "Send" icon when ready
Attaching a File and Sending an Email via the "Email" Application:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Tap "Email"
- Press the "Compose" icon
- Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field. Alternatively, if the recipient is already in your contacts list, tap the "contact" icon, select the desired contact and tap "Done"
- Enter the subject in the "Subject" field and type in your message in the appropriate field
- Press the "Attach" icon depicted as a paper clip
- Select the desired attachment type
- Navigate to and select the attachment, then tap "Done"
- Press the "Send" icon when ready
Deleting Emails in Gmail:
- On the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Tap "Gmail". If you have multiple accounts, tap the "Inbox" field at the top of the screen and select the one that you wish to use
- Mark the check box associated with the email message(s) that you wish to delete
- Tap the icon depicting a "Trash can"
Deleting Emails in the "Email" App:
- From the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Select "Email". Note: if you have multiple email accounts, tap "Inbox" and select the one that you wish to use
- To the left of each message that you wish to delete, mark the check box
- Tap the "Trash can" icon and press "Delete"
