Blocking Messages
Blocking Messages or Spam from a Number via a Received Messages:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Tap and hold the conversation thread from the number that you wish to block
- Tap "Add to spam numbers" and tap "OK"
Blocking Messages or Spam from a Number via the Settings Menu:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- If necessary, mark the "Spam settings" check box
- Tap "Add to spam numbers"
- Press the "+" icon to add a number
- Type the number or tap the "Contacts" icon and select the number from the contacts list
- Once finished, tap "Save"
Unblocking Messages
Unblocking Messages Using a Text or Multimedia Message:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Tap and hold the conversation thread from the number that you wish to unblock
- Tap "Remove from spam numbers"
Unblocking Messages Using the Settings Menu:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- If necessary, mark the check box associated with "Spam settings"
- Tap "Register number as spam"
- Tap and hold the desired number and then tap "Delete"
- Tap "OK" to confirm
Sending Messages
Sending a Group Text Message:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Press the "Compose" icon
- Tap the "Contacts" icon and perform one of the following steps:
- To send to a custom group:
- Tap the "Contacts" tab
- Select the desired contact. Repeat this stop to add more group memebers
- Tap "Done"
- To send to an already created group:
- Tap the "Groups" tab
- Tap the group that you wish to send the message to
- Select individual recipients, or tap "Select all"
- Tap "Done"
- To send to a custom group:
- Type in the desired message in the "Enter message" field
- Once ready, tap "Send"
Sending a New Picture or Video in a Multimedia Message:
- While on the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
- Tap "Camera" and perform one of the following steps:
- To take a picture:
- If necessary, tap the "Switch" to select the proper camera mode
- Frame the subject and tap the "Shutter" icon
- To capture a video:
- Tap the "Switch" button to go into the "Camcoder" mode
- If necessary, tap the "Settings" icon, then tap "recording mode" and select "Limit for MMS"
- Press the "Record" icon to begin recording
- Tap "Stop" to stop the recording process
- To take a picture:
- Tap the image or video "Thumbnail" located at the left corner of the display
- Tap the "Share" icon
- Swipe up on the display and tap "Messaging"
- Enter the recipient's phone number, or select the desired contacts by pressing the "Contacts" icon
- Tap the message field and enter the desired message
- When ready, press "Send"
Sending an Existing Picture or Video in a Multimedia Message:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Tap the "Compose" icon
- At "Enter recipient", enter the recipient's phone number. Alternatively, tap the "Contacts" icon, select an existing contact and tap "Done"
- Type in your message in the "Enter message" field
- Press the "Attach" icon depicted as a paperclip
- Tap "Images" or "Video"
- Select either "Dropbox", "Gallery" or "Samsung Link"
- Tap either "Always" or "Just once"
- Navigate to the folder containing the desired media file
- Tap the image or video thumbnail to attach it
- When ready, press "Send"
Manage Messages
Deleting a Text or Multimedia Message:
- From any of the home screens, tap "Messaging"
- Perform one of the following steps:
- To delete an entire conversation thread:
- Tap and hold the conversation
- Tap "Delete thread" and press "OK" to confirm
- To delete an individual SMS / MMS:
- Tap the conversation thread containing the message that you wish to delete
- Tap and hold the message that you wish to delete
- Tap "Delete message" and press "OK" to confirm
- To delete an entire conversation thread:
Saving Pictures Received via Multimedia Messages (MMS):
- Tap "Messaging" located on the home screen
- Tap the conversation thread containing the desired message
- Tap and hold the media file that you wish to save
- Select "Save attachment"
- Tap the "file name" to mark the check box associated with the file
- Tap "Save". Note: to access the default location where the file is saved: tap "Apps" on the home screen > "My files" > "All files" > "sdcard0" > "Download" folder
Viewing the current SMS Service Number:
- While on the home screen, tap "Messaging"
- Press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to the "SMS / MMS" tab
- View "Message center"
