Restoring Applications:
- Log in with the Google account used to back up your apps, if necessary
- Press the "Menu" button while on a home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Access the "Accounts" tab
- Tap "Google" and tap "Sync all"
- Press the "Back" button
- Tap "Backup and reset"
- Check / clear the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:
- Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
- Tap "Settings" and go to "Accounts"
- Select "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of contact you've used for the backup
- Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
- Mark the "Sync contacts" check box. If it's already checked, tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Go to the "Contacts" tab
- Press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
- Select "Import from SD card" and choose an account
- Tap "Import vCard file" > "OK"
- Select the vCard file that you've backed up, and tap "OK" to confirm
Restoring Media Files from Your SD Card:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Select "My Files"
- Tap "All files" > "SD card"
- Navigate to where the media files are stored
- Tap and hold a file that you wish to restore, and tap "Move"
- The smartphone will now show the available memory locations. To move the files in a different location, tap the folder name or tap "Create new"
- Tap "Move here"
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between your phone and computer via USB
- Drag the "status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your PC's HDD
- Copy the files, and paste them on your phone's storage. (NOTE: the card icon represents the SD card, whereas the phone icon is the phone's internal storage)
- Once the files have been transferred, safely disconnect your smartphone
Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Use the USB cable to connect your smartphone to your computer
- Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Tap the "Media device" check box
- Launch Kies on your computer
- Click the "Back up / restore" tab and click "Restore"
- Click the check boxes next to "Music", "Photos" or any other file types. To restore all files, click the "Select all items" check box
- Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
- Once the process finishes, you can disconnect your smartphone
