Enabling Easy Mode:
NOTE: Easy mode is a new TouchWiz feature, which enables you to switch the layout in order to feature a simpler home screen and bigger icons. The easy mode home screen can be customized with frequently used apps etc. In order to enable easy mode:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Easy mode" > "Easy mode"
- Choose the application that you wish to apply a simple layout to
- Tap "Done"
- To add shortcuts to the home screen, swipe left and tap "+". Then, select an app
- If you want to add contacts to the home screen, swipe right and tap "Contacts"
- To remove items from the home screen, tap "menu" > "edit", and tap the "-" button associated with the desired app / contact
Managing the Apps Drawer:
Changing the View Mode:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Tap the "Menu" icon
- Select "View as" and choose a sorting method
Hiding Apps from the Apps Drawer:
- Open the apps drawer
- Press "Menu" > "hide apps"
- Select the apps that you wish to hide
- Tap "Done"
- To make the applications visible again, tap "Menu" > "Show hidden apps" > select the apps > "Done"
Creating Folders within the App Drawer:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Press "Menu" > "Create folder". (Alternatively, tap "Menu" > "edit" > Tap and hold an app and drag iot over the "Create folder" option)
- Enter the folder's name
- To add apps in the folder, tap the "+" button
- Tap "Done" to confirm the changes
Moving Shortcuts in the Apps Screen:
- Launch the apps drawer
- Tap "Menu" > "edit"
- Tap and hold an app shortcut, and drag it to a different location
- To move the shortcut to a different panel, drag it at the edge of the screen
- If you wish to create a new panel containing a shortcut, drag the app shortcut on top of the "Create page" area
Managing the Home Screen
Adding Items to the Home Screen:
- To add an app, tap the "apps" button and drag > drop the desired app on top of the home screen
- To add widgets, tap and hold an empty spot on the home screen > "Widgets" > tap and hold the desired widget and drag it over the home screen
- To remove an item, tap and hold it, and drag > drop it over the "Remove" button
- To move an item, tap and hold it > drag and drop it to the desired location
Creating Folders on the Home Screen:
- From the desired home screen, tap and hold a shortcut
- Drag the shortcut on top of the "Create folder" field
- Enter the folder's name
- Tap the "+" icon to add shortcuts to the folder
- Tap "Done"
Changing the Wallpaper:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" > "Wallpaper"
- Select the screen where you wish to change the wallpaper
- Scroll to the available images, or, to select a wallpaper from a different location, tap "More images"
- After selecting the desired image, tap "Done" or "Set wallpaper"
