Audio File Transfer
Transferring Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect your smartphone to the computer using the USB cable
- While on the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" from the AutoPlay window
- Navigate to where you wish to transfer the audio files that you wish to use as ringtones or notifications
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the audio files stored on your computer's HDD
- Copy the desired files, and paste them on your smartphone's storage
- Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone by clicking the mass media storage device icon located in the system tray
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: follow the first two steps only if you don't have Samsung Kies installed on your Mac. Otherwise skip them.
- Open the Internet browser on your Mac and navigate to Kies
- Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software
- Next up, establish a connection between the Galaxy S5 Sport and the computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "media device"
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- From within Kies, click the "Folder" icon next to "Internal memory" or "External memory". Then, navigate to where you wish to add the audio files
- On the Mac computer, navigate to where the audio files are located
- Drag the files and drop them in Kies
Managing the Ringtone and Notification List
Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Tap "Add" and select "Sound picker" or "Choose music track"
- Select to open "Just once" or "Always" and then tap the desired audio files
- Press "OK"
Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:
- Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
- Open "My Files"
- Tap "All files" and navigate to the desired audio files
- Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
- Tap "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
- Tap "Paste here"
Changing the Ringtone and Notification Sound
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- Press "Menu" while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
- Tap "Ringtones"
- Select the desired ringtone and then tap "OK"
Changing the Ringtone for One Specific Contact:
NOTE: you can't assign custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on the phone's internal memory or the SIM card.
- Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
- Select a contact and tap the "Edit" icon
- Tap "Ringtone"
- Choose the ringtone that you wish to assign to the contact
- Tap "OK" and confirm by pressing "Save"
Changing the Notifications Sound:
- Press "Menu" from the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
- Select the desired notification sound
- Lastly, tap "OK" to confirm
