Audio File Transfer

Transferring Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect your smartphone to the computer using the USB cable
  2. While on the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  3. On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer" from the AutoPlay window
  4. Navigate to where you wish to transfer the audio files that you wish to use as ringtones or notifications
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the audio files stored on your computer's HDD
  6. Copy the desired files, and paste them on your smartphone's storage
  7. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone by clicking the mass media storage device icon located in the system tray

Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: follow the first two steps only if you don't have Samsung Kies installed on your Mac. Otherwise skip them.

  1. Open the Internet browser on your Mac and navigate to Kies
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software
  3. Next up, establish a connection between the Galaxy S5 Sport and the computer via USB
  4. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "media device"
  5. Launch Kies on the Mac
  6. From within Kies, click the "Folder" icon next to "Internal memory" or "External memory". Then, navigate to where you wish to add the audio files
  7. On the Mac computer, navigate to where the audio files are located
  8. Drag the files and drop them in Kies

Managing the Ringtone and Notification List

Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
  4. Tap "Add" and select "Sound picker" or "Choose music track"
  5. Select to open "Just once" or "Always" and then tap the desired audio files
  6. Press "OK"

Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Open "My Files"
  3. Tap "All files" and navigate to the desired audio files
  4. Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
  5. Tap "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
  6. Tap "Paste here"

Changing the Ringtone and Notification Sound

Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
  3. Tap "Ringtones"
  4. Select the desired ringtone and then tap "OK"

Changing the Ringtone for One Specific Contact:

NOTE: you can't assign custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on the phone's internal memory or the SIM card.

  1. Tap the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select a contact and tap the "Edit" icon
  3. Tap "Ringtone"
  4. Choose the ringtone that you wish to assign to the contact
  5. Tap "OK" and confirm by pressing "Save"

Changing the Notifications Sound:

  1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
  4. Select the desired notification sound
  5. Lastly, tap "OK" to confirm
