Audio File Transfer
Transferring Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between your smartphone and computer via USB
- While viewing the home screen, drag the "notification" bar down
- Tap "connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- An AutoPlay window should appear on the computer. From there, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Go to the directory where you wish to transfer the audio files on your smartphone
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the audio files are stored on your PC's HDD
- Copy the files and then paste them on your phone's memory
- After the transfer is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone by clicking the mass storage device icon from the system tray
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac:
NOTE: If Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first two steps.
- Launch the Internet browse on your Mac and go to Kies
- From the webpage, click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation
- Connect the Galaxy Ace 4 to your computer via USB
- Drag the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Tap the "Media device" check box
- On the Mac, launch Kies
- From Kies, click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory" or "Internal memory" and navigate to the location where you want to copy the files
- On the Mac, locate the desired audio files
- Drag the audio files from the Mac into Kies
- Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your Ace 4 from the Mac
Ringtone and Notification Management
Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Tap "Add" and then tap "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
- Tap "Always" or "Just once" and select the desired audio files
- Press "OK"
Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:
- From the home screen tap "Apps"
- Tap "My Files"
- Tap "All files"
- Navigate to and tap > hold the desired sound file
- Select "copy" and tap "Device storage"
- Open the "Notifications" folder and tap "Paste here"
Changing the Ringtone and Notification Sound
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
- Tap "Settings"
- Touch "Sound" and tap "Ringtones"
- Choose a ringtone and then tap "OK"
Changing the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: you can't set custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on the SIM card or the phone's internal memory
- From the home screen, tap "Contacts"
- Tap "Edit" > "Ringtone"
- Select the ringtone that you wish to set
- Tap "OK" and then touch "Save" to confirm
Changing the Notifications Sound:
- While viewing the home screen, press "Menu"
- Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
- Tap "notifications" and select the desired sound
- Tap "OK" to confirm
