Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- From the home screen press Menu and tap Settings
- Access the My device tab
- Tap the switch next to Power saving mode and set it to ON
- Tap Power saving mode to customize how the mode works
Adjust Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Access the phones Settings menu
- From the My device tab tap Brightness
- Clear the check box next to Automatic brightness
- Drag the slider towards the left-hand side of the screen and tap OK
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value like 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot:
NOTE: You can increase your phones battery performance by disabling all of the connectivity features whenever they are not in use, including Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Hotspot.
- Press Menu > Settings on the home screen
- Under the Connections tab tap More networks
- Tap Tethering & Mobile hotspot
- Set the Mobile Hotspot switch to OFF
- Return to the home screen and drag the status bar down
- Tap the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS tiles to disable these features
Change the Sync Settings for Apps:
NOTE: You can prolong your phones battery life by setting your accounts / apps to sync less dataor less often. To do so:
- Press Menu while viewing the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Under Accounts, tap My accounts and select the desired account type
- Set the available options, and tap your email address or user name at the top of the screen to access additional sync settings
Minimize the Use of 3rd Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain applications can still affect your phones battery performance even if you dont, or very rarely use them. This is because some applications can run processes in the background. To disable or remove rarely-used third party apps:
- Access the phones Settings menu
- Tap More > Application manager
- Swipe to the Downloaded screen
- Select the desired application and tap Disable
- Alternatively tap Uninstall > OK to completely remove the selected app
Disable Background Data:
- Press Menu on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access Connections and tap Data usage
- Press Menu
- Check the Restrict background data check box
Keep Your Phone Up to Date:
NOTE: Software updates can sometimes include battery life improvements so its recommended that you keep your phone up to date. To check if new software updates are available:
- Press Menu on the home screen
- Go to Settings and tap the More tab
- Tap About device > Software update
- Tap Check now and if a new update is available then follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it
