Restore Applications:

  1. Sign in with the Google account you used for the initial backup
  2. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
  3. Access the "Accounts" tab
  4. Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
  5. Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
  6. Check / uncheck the boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

Restore Contacts (from an Account):

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Go to "Accounts"
  3. Tap "Google" or "Samsung" depending on the type of account you used to back up your contacts
  4. Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts" check box and tap "Sync now"

Restore Contacts (From the SD Card):

  1. Insert the SD card containing the backup file
  2. Launch "Contacts"
  3. Press "Menu" and tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
  4. Tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
  5. Browse for, and select the file you want to import

Restore Media Files

From the SD Card:

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Open "My Files"
  3. Tap "All files" > "SD card"
  4. Locate and tap & hold the file you want to restore
  5. Tap "Move" and select an available memory location. Otherwise tap "Create new" or the folder's name to change the location
  6. Tap "Move here"
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for as many files as you need

Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Galaxy V Plus to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  3. Select "Media device (MTP)"
  4. On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your PC's HDD
  6. Copy the files and transfer them in the first Explorer window, on your phone storage
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect it from the PC

Using a Mac:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy V Plus and Mac
  2. If necessary, swipe the "Status" bar down and enable "Media device (MTP)"
  3. Launch Kies on the computer
  4. In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
  5. Click the "Restore" tab and mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo", or other types of media files. (Optionally click "Select all items")
  6. Click "Restore" and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
  7. Once the files have been restored, drag the phone's virtual drive to the "trash can" and safely disconnect the device from the Mac
