Restore Applications:
- Sign in with the Google account you used for the initial backup
- Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
- Access the "Accounts" tab
- Tap "Google" > "Sync all"
- Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
- Check / uncheck the boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restore Contacts (from an Account):
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- Go to "Accounts"
- Tap "Google" or "Samsung" depending on the type of account you used to back up your contacts
- Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
- Mark the "Sync Contacts" check box and tap "Sync now"
Restore Contacts (From the SD Card):
- Insert the SD card containing the backup file
- Launch "Contacts"
- Press "Menu" and tap "Contacts to display" > "All contacts"
- Tap "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
- Browse for, and select the file you want to import
Restore Media Files
From the SD Card:
- Tap "Apps" on the home screen
- Open "My Files"
- Tap "All files" > "SD card"
- Locate and tap & hold the file you want to restore
- Tap "Move" and select an available memory location. Otherwise tap "Create new" or the folder's name to change the location
- Tap "Move here"
- Repeat steps 4-6 for as many files as you need
Using a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Galaxy V Plus to your computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Select "Media device (MTP)"
- On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your PC's HDD
- Copy the files and transfer them in the first Explorer window, on your phone storage
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect it from the PC
Using a Mac:
- Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy V Plus and Mac
- If necessary, swipe the "Status" bar down and enable "Media device (MTP)"
- Launch Kies on the computer
- In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
- Click the "Restore" tab and mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo", or other types of media files. (Optionally click "Select all items")
- Click "Restore" and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
- Once the files have been restored, drag the phone's virtual drive to the "trash can" and safely disconnect the device from the Mac
