Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: If one of your applications doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage space, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the application, including login information, profiles, high scores, saved games, credit card information etc. As such, to avoid losing personal data, you should try fixing the issues by clearing the apps cache.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Applications and tap Application manager
- Go to the Downloaded or All tab
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt help, you can tap Clear data > OK
Wipe the Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone doesnt work as intended, it freezes, crashes etc. then you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have a similar effect as a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data.
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power, Volume Up and Home at the same time
- Once the phone powers up, release all buttons
- After an Android logo pops-up, you should gain access to the Android System Recovery menu
- Press Volume down in the Recovery menu to highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- After the cache is wiped, make sure Reboot system now is highlighted, and press Power
NOTE: If wiping the cache didnt help, you can try factory resetting the phone instead. Check out the following link for instructions on how you can factory reset the Samsung Galaxy J3.
Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app that causes problems on your phone and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to easily remove the app from Safe Mode. In this mode all third party applications are disabled.
- Turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power
- At the Samsung logo, release Power and immediately press and hold Volume down instead
- After the phone reboots, a Safe mode label should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen. Release all buttons after the reboot
- Access the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall twice to confirm
- To exit safe mode, press and hold Power and then tap Restart
