Enable Power Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Power”
  4. Tap “Power saving mode” and set the feature to “ON”
  5. Enable or disable the available Power Saving options to customize how the mode works when enabled

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Power saving” under “System”
  4. Tap “Ultra Power saving mode”
  5. Tap the switch to enable Ultra Power saving mode
  6. Customize how the mode works, and optionally, add more apps to work in Ultra Power saving mode by tapping “+”

Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity options when they are not in use, you can prolong battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot” under “Network Connections”
  4. Tap the Hotspot switch “OFF”
  5. Return to the home screen and swipe the “Status” bar down
  6. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Location”, and “Bluetooth” to disable these features

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Open the apps drawer and tap “Settings”
  2. Tap “More networks” under “Network Connections”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  4. Tap “GSM only” to restrict to 2G

Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Tap “Display” under “Quick settings”
  4. Tap “Brightness” and if necessary, disable “Automatic brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  6. Tap “OK” > “Screen timeout”
  7. Lower the timeout duration to “15 seconds” or similar

Disable Background Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Tap “Data usage” under “Network connections”
  4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Restrict background data”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can have a negative effect on your battery life even when you don’t use them – assuming that these apps perform regular background processes. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps you may be able to improve battery life.

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Apps” and tap “Application manager”
  3. Access the “Downloaded” tab
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” to turn off the app, or “Uninstall” to remove it

Change App Sync Settings:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “User and Backup”
  2. Tap “Accounts” and access the “Accounts” tab
  3. Select the desired account, and tap to adjust the available sync settings for the account type
  4. For more sync options, tap the “email address” or “user name” at the top of the screen

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, thus you should check for new updates regularly and keep your phone up to date.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “System”
  3. Tap “About device” > “Software updates”
  4. If an update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to install it
