Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: if one of your applications doesnt work properly or occupies too much storage, you might be able to fix the issues by clearing the apps cache or data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps data will delete all personal information stored within the app, including credit card and login information, profiles, high scores, saved games etc. In order to avoid losing your data, you should first try clearing the apps cache.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Application and tap Application manager"
- Go to Downloaded or All
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- In case clearing the cache didnt solve the issue, you can proceed to tap Clear data > OK
Wipe the Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, or doesnt work as intended, you might be able to fix these issues by clearing the cache partition. Unlike a factory reset, wiping the cache partition does not remove any of your personal data stored on the internal memory.
- First, turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power, Volume Up, and Home at the same time
- When the Samsung logo appears, release Power
- At the Android logo, release all hardware buttons
- You should now have access to the Android system recovery menu
- From here, press Volume down repeatedly to highlight Wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Once the cache partition is wiped, Reboot system now should be highlighted
- Press Power
NOTE: If clearing the cache didnt help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the Galaxy A3.
Reboot in Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If one of your third party applications causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should try uninstalling it in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party applications are disabled.
- First, turn off the phone
- Next, press and hold Power
- At the Samsung logo, release Power and immediately press & hold Volume Down
- After the phone restarts, a Safe Mode label should be shown in the lower-left area of the screen
- To remove the app, first go to Settings
- Next, scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Go to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall
- Once the app has been removed, press & hold Power to reboot your phone in normal mode
