Transfer Audio files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy J2 and computer
  2. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
  3. Make sure “Media device (MTP)” is selected
  4. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  5. Locate the desired audio files on your PC and copy them
  6. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and / or “Notifications” folders under “Media”
  7. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, you need to skip the first 3 steps.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” to install Kies on the computer
  4. Next, connect the Galaxy J2 to your Mac via USB
  5. From the phone’s notification area, make sure “Media device (MTP)” is selected
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac
  7. Inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  8. Open the file explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
  9. Drag the files and drop them inside Kies
  10. Once the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “trash can” to eject it
  11. It’s now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB

Change the Phone Ringtone:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Sounds and notifications”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “Back” to save the changes

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
  3. Tap “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”
  5. Tap “Save”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Sounds and notifications” under “Device”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones and sounds”
  4. Select the desired notification sound
  5. Tap “Back” to save the changes
