Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your third party apps doesnt work as intended, freezes, crashes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you might be able to fix these problems by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! When you clear an applications data, all your personal data stored within the app, including profiles, saved games, high scores, settings, login and credit card information will be lost. To avoid losing personal data, clear only the apps cache.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Under Device, tap Applications
- Access Application Manager
- Swipe to All or Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > OK (Check WARNING above)
Wipe the Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesnt work as intended and you plan on factory resetting it, you may want to try and clear the cache partition first. Clearing the cache partition can solve many similar issues fixed by a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data.
- First, turn off the phone
- Next, press and hold Home, Power, and Volume Up at the same time
- When the Samsung logo appears, release Power
- At the Android logo, release all hardware buttons
- You should now have access to the Android System Recovery menu
- From Recovery, press Volume down repeatedly to highlight Wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- After the cache is wiped, Reboot system now will be highlighted
- Press Power one last time to restart your phone
NOTE: In case clearing the cache didnt help, you may want to visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Amp 2.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: If youve installed a third party app on your phone that causes problems and doesnt allow you to remove it, you should be able to easily uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In Safe Mode all third party apps are disabled.
- Make sure the phone is turned off
- Next, press and hold Power
- When you see the Samsung logo, release Power and quickly hold Volume Down instead
- After the phone finishes rebooting, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower-left corner of the screen. Release Volume Down too after the reboot
- On the home screen, tap Apps
- Open Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Applications > Application manager
- Go to the Downloaded section and select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > Uninstall to confirm and remove the app
- After the app has been removed, press and hold Power and tap Restart to exit Safe Mode and reboot your phone in normal mode
