Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Enable Power saving mode
- Tap Start power saving and select a battery percentage at which Power Saving mode enables automatically
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Enable Ultra power saving mode and tap Agree
- To add apps on the Ultra Power Saving mode home screen, tap +
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Go to Settings
- Under Device, tap Display
- Tap Automatic brightness to disable the option if necessary
- Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value like 15 seconds
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By turning on Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen, tap Apps
- Open Settings and scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associate with the connectivity features you want to turn off
Temporarily Switch to 2G:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G connectivity.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap More connection settings > Mobile networks
- Tap Network mode and select GSM only
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps can perform regular background processes, and thus they can affect battery life even when the apps are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Applications
- Tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Turn off / Disable to disable the application
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall two times to confirm
Disable Background Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap Data usage
- Tap More > Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings on your device to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts
- Select an account type and the desired account
- Clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to turn off
- To save the changes, tap Menu > Sync now
