Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy C5 to your computer via USB
- At the prompt, enable Media device (MPT) / File Transfer (MTP), else enable the option from the notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the desired audio files on the computer and copy them
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones and / or Notification folder(s)
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac.
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and install Kies on the computer
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy C5 to your Mac via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- Click the Folder icon associated with Internal memory or External memory
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag the files and drop them in Kies to start the transfer
- Once done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the Trash can to eject it
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds and notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone > Add ringtone
- Select Sound picker and tap Always or Just once
- Select the audio files you want to add and tap Done
Change the Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Under Device, tap Sounds & notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones & sounds
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and press Back to apply the changes
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts located on the SIM card or the internal memory.
- Open Contacts
- Select the desired contact
- Tap Edit > Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK > Save
Change the Notification Sound:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & notifications
- Tap Ringtones and sound under Sounds
- Select a notification type
- Select the desired notification sound and tap Back to confirm the changes
