Back Up App Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Turn on “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, app data, and settings to your Google account
  5. Turn on “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to be automatically restored the next time you log in with your Google account

Back Up Contacts Using a Samsung or Google Account:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “More” > “Settings”
  3. Assuming there are contacts on your phone that haven’t been synced with your account, tap “move device contacts to”
  4. Tap “Settings” > “Accounts”
  5. Select an account to sync the contacts with
  6. Tap “More” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: The contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Samsung or Google backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the PC
  2. Visit Samsung Smart Switch?
  3. Click “Samsung Smart Switch for PC” and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on the computer
  4. Once done, connect the Samsung phone to your PC via USB
  5. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, otherwise enable the option from the “Notification” area
  6. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired media files on your phone
  7. Copy the files and transfer them in your custom backup location on the PC storage
  8. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files From a Windows PC:

  1. Follow the first 5 steps in the guide above
  2. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  3. Navigate to the media files backed up on the PC storage
  4. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, in the “Media” directory or preferably the folder(s) they originate from
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
  6. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and install Kies
  4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro to your computer via USB
  5. When prompted, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or turn the option On from the “Notification” area
  6. Open Kies on the Mac and click the “Back up / restore” tab
  7. Access the “Backup” tab and check the boxes linked with “Music”, “Photos”, and other media files you want to back up
  8. Click “Backup” to begin the process
  9. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the virtual drive from the desktop and into the “trash can”
  10. Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

  1. Follow the firs 6 steps detailed in the guide above
  2. Access the “Restore” tab
  3. Check the boxes next to “Music”, “Photos”, and other media file types you want to restore
  4. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen instructions
  5. After the restore is complete, eject the phone by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “trash can”
  6. You can now safely disconnect the Samsung device from the USB
