Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Turn on Back up my data to back up Wi-Fi passwords, app data, and settings to your Google account
- Turn on Automatic Restore to allow app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to be automatically restored the next time you log in with your Google account
Back Up Contacts Using a Samsung or Google Account:
- Open Contacts
- Tap More > Settings
- Assuming there are contacts on your phone that havent been synced with your account, tap move device contacts to
- Tap Settings > Accounts
- Select an account to sync the contacts with
- Tap More > Sync Now
NOTE: The contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Samsung or Google backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Launch the Internet browser on the PC
- Visit Samsung Smart Switch?
- Click Samsung Smart Switch for PC and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on the computer
- Once done, connect the Samsung phone to your PC via USB
- At the prompt, enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP), otherwise enable the option from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in your custom backup location on the PC storage
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files From a Windows PC:
- Follow the first 5 steps in the guide above
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media files backed up on the PC storage
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, in the Media directory or preferably the folder(s) they originate from
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and install Kies
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro to your computer via USB
- When prompted, enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP), or turn the option On from the Notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac and click the Back up / restore tab
- Access the Backup tab and check the boxes linked with Music, Photos, and other media files you want to back up
- Click Backup to begin the process
- Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the virtual drive from the desktop and into the trash can
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Follow the firs 6 steps detailed in the guide above
- Access the Restore tab
- Check the boxes next to Music, Photos, and other media file types you want to restore
- Click Restore and follow the on-screen instructions
- After the restore is complete, eject the phone by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the Samsung device from the USB
