Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu”
  3. Go to “Settings”
  4. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
  5. Tap “Import/Export contacts”
  6. Select to “Import from SD card”
  7. If necessary, select the desired backup file and tap “OK”

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Open “My Files”
  2. Select “SD Card”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Edit”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Move”
  6. Select “Internal storage” > “Move here”
  7. Alternatively, select a different location by tapping “Create folder”

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
  5. Transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) of origin
  6. After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Connect the Samsung phone to the Mac via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area on the phone
  3. Open Kies on the Mac
  4. Inside Kies, click the “Back up / restore tab”
  5. Go to the “Restore” tab and tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other type of files you want to restore
  6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
  7. After the process completes, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
  8. Once done, you can safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
