Reset Network Settings:
NOTE: When you reset your network settings, all the saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks will be deleted. Additionally, data restrictive settings, background sync settings, and network selection mode will be restored to factory values.
- Launch Settings
- Go to General management
- Tap Reset > Reset network settings
- If the device is protected by a lock screen, enter the password/PIN to proceed
- Tap Reset settings
Factory Reset
WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data stored on the phones internal memory will be deleted. This includes apps, media files, downloaded content, contacts etc. However data located on the SIM card and SD storage wont be affected by the reset.
NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.
Hard Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Cloud and accounts
- Tap Backup and restore and optionally, turn Back up my data and Restore ON or OFF
- Return to Settings
- Go to General management
- Tap Reset > Factory data reset > Reset device
- If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password and tap Continue
- Tap Delete all to confirm
Hard Reset via Android Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can try resetting your phone from the Recovery menu.
- First, turn the phone Off
- Then, press and hold Volume Up and Home simultaneously, then press and release Power
- At the Android screen, release the buttons and wait for access to Android Recovery
- In Recovery, press Volume down to navigate the menu and highlight Wipe data/factory reset
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Highlight Yes delete all user data
- Press Power
- Once done, ensure Reboot system now is highlighted and press Power
