How-to: Samsung Galaxy J3 Star: Create and Manage Contacts, Caller Groups, and Speed Dialing

Create a Contact:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Tap “+” and select to store the contact on “Phone” “SIM” or sync it with “Google”
3. Enter the contact’s phone number, name, and other optional details in the appropriate fields
4. Tap “Done”

Import/Export Contacts:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
3. Access “Manage contacts” and tap “move contacts from phone”
4. Select an account for syncing and tap “Move”
5. Tap “Import/Export contacts” and perform one of the steps below:
   
   • When importing contacts: tap “SD Card” > “Import” then select the contacts and tap “Internal Storage” > “Done” > “Import” > “OK”
   • When exporting contacts: tap “Export” > “SD Card” and select the desired contacts then tap “Done” > “Export” > “OK”

Assign Contacts to Speed Dial:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Tap “Contacts” > “Menu” > “Speed dial”
3. Tap the desired speed dial key
4. Select the contact/phone number to link with the speed dial key

Remove Contacts:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Tap the contact you want to remove
3. Tap “Menu” > “Delete”
4. Tap “Delete” again to confirm

Create a Caller Group:

1. Open “Contacts”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Groups”
3. Tap “Create”
4. Enter the desired group name
5. Optionally you can select a group ringtone
6. When ready, tap “Save”

Add Contacts to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Select the contact you want to associate with the caller group
3. Tap “Details” > “Edit” > “Group”
4. Tick the check box next to the desired caller group
5. Tap “Back” > “Save”
