NOTE: You can check this thread for a guide on how to back up contacts, app data, and media files on the phone.

Restore Contacts from SD Storage:

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu”
  3. Go to “Settings” > “Contacts to display”
  4. Switch to “All contacts” if necessary
  5. Go to “Import/Export contacts”
  6. Tap “Import from SD card” > “OK”

Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

  1. Open “My Files”
  2. Access “SD Card”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Edit”
  4. Tick the boxes linked with the media file types you want to restore
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
  6. Tap “Move here” or “Create folder”
  7. Select the folder name and tap “Move here”

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the PC
  4. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Mac:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the Mac via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open Kies on the Mac
  4. Go to the “Back up / Restore” tab
  5. Access “Restore”
  6. Tick the boxes linked with the media file types you want to restore then click “Restore”
  7. Follow the prompts and once done, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and over the “trash can”
  8. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
