The old Samsung Rugby is being replaced by a new Samsung Rugby phone called the Samsung Rugby II. AT&T has officially announced the Samsung Rugby II and plans on launching the rugged handset around June 6, the same day that the LG Vu Plus is launching in stores.

The Rugby II is a clamshell handset that combines the “next generation Push to Talk device”, with these features: HSPA (7.2 Mbps), A-GPS, AT&T Navigator, TeleNav Track, Xora GPS Timetrack, noise suppression technology, Bluetooth, Music player, Web browser, 2MP camera with video recording, large external speaka ers, and MicroSD card support.

The Samsung Rugby II can withstand shock, vibration, humidity, dust, rain and solar radiation and is certified to the Military standard MIL-STD 80G. The cost of the Rugby II will be $129.99 on a 2 year contract and after a $50 mail in rebate.
