I too have noticed what others have said that the Samsung phones battery depletes very quickly . Even without using the phone the battery can deplete in a week or even one day . I also own a Nokia phone and it holds a charge for one year ,I am not joking . It is turned off and not used but the Samsung isn't used either and can't hold a charge very long , why is this ?

Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly
What do you mean that Nokia can hold a charge for one year? I also have a Nokia phone but the battery life depends on the quality of the battery. I bought a battery that is not made by Nokia and it didn't last long after a full charge. I bet this goes the same with Samsung phones.

Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly
Hi Gabby:
Don't forget that my Nokia phone is turned off and is not being used at all during the one year . It is being kept for emergency use only and that's why it's battery charge is lasting so long. If I used the phone then obviously the battery would deplete sooner . The point is that I am not talking on the Samsung phone either but suddenly the battery can be completely depleted even within one day .The Samsung is a camera phone so maybe using the camera depletes the battery life ?
Why did you need to buy a new battery for your Nokia phone ,these batteries are re chargeable ?

Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly
Now I get it and thanks for further explanation. I bought an extra battery so that I can have an extra battery to use when I travel.
It could be possible that Samsung phone is using up the battery even if it is turned off. However, I don't know which part of the Samsung phone is using up battery.

Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly
If I'm understanding this correctly, the Nokia phone is off, but you have the Samsung phone on (and just don't talk much on it). If this is the case, the phone won't last a year when in "standby mode". I have a Samsung Mantra on Virgin Mobile USA, and at times I can keep it on for about two weeks on one charge. One week isn't bad either, depending on the age of the battery. If it is only holding a charge for a day with little use, you might want to look into getting another battery, or an extra battery like the member above did.

Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly
So today I was in the Mall and looked at my Samsung C414 phone and see that the battery is completely dead. I thought to myself , what the hay is going on here ? So I went into the store to report this. The salesman acted very surprised and said that he has never heard anyone complain about this. I told him that I read about a lot of complaints on the internet . Well anyways he ordered a new battery for me and if the problem persists with a new battery then he said he would send the phone back to Samsung to get it checked out. Meanwhile I looked at an LG cell phone that just arrived for $99 . Maybe replacing the phone will be the end result . I will wait and see if replacing the battery helps because I just bought the phone four months ago . I just remembered that I bought a car charger for the Samsung phone and if it isn't good for a new cell phone then that will be another $40 down the drain .

Re: Samsung C414 Battery depletes very quickly
I don't know yet because they just replaced the battery today. They ( cell phone store ) absolutely, positively will not replace the phone under any circumstance. If it is still continues to have problems then they will send it back to Samsung to have it repaired. There was only 14 days from time of purchase that it could be returned to the store. The warranty is a manufacturer warranty only. If I buy a new phone then not only would I lose the purchase price but games, pictures etc.that are downloaded into the phone. Maybe other people who experienced the same problem and replaced the battery could tell me whether this solved the problem or not ?
