So everything on your AT&T account is setup correctly for data right?

If so, then I would bring it back and exchange for a new one. If you still have the problem then there is definitely something wrong with the data setup on your account.

    Re: Note II and internet........??

Bought the phone over the net......not from att(no contract deal here)
I'm set up with att 'go phone' account...only with my friends setup.
    Worked great til yesterday.......then quit.

We can't figure why it would show up and down arrows and 'H or H+" at the top of the homepage........an indication of a network signal.....but won't do the connection.....??

    Thanks..........Ol'Ben

What plan do you have? Like tavenger5 said, something might not be setup correctly with the account.

I'm wondering if AT&T caught on that you were using a note II on the pre-paid network and shut off the data.

I don't see that plan listed on AT&T's website. Is it discontinued?

If the plan you have is made for smartphones, then I don't see what the problem is, I would contact AT&T. I'm just wondering if you have a plan for non-smartphones.

For example, AT&T's current $50 prepaid plan is unlimited, but for non-smartphones. They have a $65 plan for smartphones with 1 GB of data.

If you happen to have a plan that is not for smartphones then that would explain why you aren't able to connect.

    ==================================================

    I called att.....asked to have a data plan added?.....just 200MB to test.

It worked.....att claimed I had a 'no data' plan, so no internet.
Now the net works fine(not for long with 200mb)

It surprised my friend at att too.....he's been there 10 years....!!

I'll try another prepaid plan/ unlimited of course. Simple mobile has one FOR smartphones @ $50..........we'll see.

Thanks all for the input and encouragement.....great forum here!
(of course, the forum IS the people involved)

    Thanks again.......Ol'Ben

I'm glad you were able to get it working.

You can use your current AT&T phone with Straight Talk for $45 per month if you'd like.

Simple Mobile uses T-Mobile's network and has a $40 per month plan that has the first 250 MB at 4G speeds, and the rest at reduced speeds. I'm not sure what Simple Mobile's reduced speeds are, but it might be acceptable. If not you can go with the $50 plan that you mentioned.

Let us know if you switch providers and what you think. Maybe you could post a review.

    Re: Note II and internet........??

What kind of limits/ caps does straight talk have on the data?

I wasn't sure they would activate a $40/ $50 plan with this note II so I didn't even try them.

Altho.......Samsung tech said wally would hook me up with the note II.......??

Anyone running a GS3 or Note II with Wal-Mart?

    Thanks again all...........I'll be back.........Ol'Ben

You can use the Note II on Straight Talk or Simple Mobile, as long as it has the correct frequencies. If it's an AT&T phone you can use it on Straight Talk without a problem, or if it is a T-Mobile phone you can use it on Simple Mobile without a problem. But, if you want to use it on a different carrier you should double check to make sure it is compatible. For example, T-Mobile uses different frequencies than AT&T. I've read that some phones might not work with their 3G service. So, it's best to double check.

Straight Talk has unlimited data according to their website. I've read that some people have complained about getting disconnected for using too much. Straight Talk hasn't posted anything on their website about that though. As long as you follow their Terms of Service you should be fine.
