Transferring Files between Internal Storage and SD Card
Transferring Files from Internal Storage to SD Card:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Select "My Files"
- Tap "All files"
- Tap "sdcard0" to access your handset's internal storage
- Navigate to the desired folders and / or files. To select files or folders, mark the checkbox associated with these files
- Press the "Menu" icon located at the top-right corner of the display
- Select "Move". Note: to create duplicates of the selected file(s) or folder(s) tap "Copy" instead
- Tap "extSdCard" to access the installed microSD card
- Navigate to the location where you wish to move the previously selected content
- Tap "Move here" or "Paste here" depending on what option you've picked at step 7
Transferring Files from the SD Card to Internal Storage:
- Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Select "My Files"
- Tap "All files"
- Select "extSdCard" to access your microSD card
- Navigate to the desired files and folders, then tap the checkbox associated with them
- Press the "Menu" icon located at the top-right corner of the screen
- Select "Move". Alternatively, select "Copy" to create duplicates of the selected files
- Tap "sdcard0" to access your handset's internal storage
- Navigate to the location where you wish to transfer the content to
- Select "Move here" (or "Paste here", depending on the situation)
Transferring Files between Computer and SD Card
Transferring between PC and SD Card:
- Connect your smartphone to your Windows machine using the USB cable that came with your phone
- Drag the status bar on your smartphone down, then tap "Connected as a media device" and tap "Media device"
- On your computer, click on "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Navigate to the desired folder inside the SD card.
- "Cut" / "Copy" the desired files inside the SD card and "Paste" them in the desired location on your PC
- Safely disconnect your smartphone when finished
Transferring Files from Mac to SD Card:
- If you don't have Samsung Kies software installed on your Mac, visit samsung.com/kies and click on "Download for Mac OS" then follow the on-screen instructions
- Connect your smartphone to your Mac. On the smartphone's screen, drag the status bar down and tap "Connected as a media device", then checkmark the "Media device" option
- Open Kies on your Mac
- In Kies, click the "Folder" icon located at the right of "External memory". (Note: "Internal memory" represents your smartphone's on-board storage, not the SD card). Navigate to where you wish to add the files
- Open your computer and select the desired files.
- Drag and drop these files into Kies
- When finished, safely disconnect your device from your Mac
