By default, the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit has its default storage location set to the handset's internal storage. To set your SD card as the default storage location (or change back from SD to internal storage), follow these guides

Setting Default Memory Storage Location for Photos Captured with the Camera:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select "Camera"
  3. Tap the "Settings" icon depicted as a cog / gear
  4. Swipe up on the menu, then tap "Storage" and select the desired option:

  • Phone
  • Memory card

Setting Default Memory Storage Location for Video Recorder:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon on the home screen
  2. Select "Video recorder"
  3. Press the "Menu" button on your device
  4. Select "Settings"
  5. Tap "Storage" then select on one of the following options:

  • Phone
  • Memory card

Setting Default Memory Storage Location for the Internet App:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Apps" icon
  2. Tap on "Internet"
  3. Press the "Menu" button on your device
  4. Swipe up and tap "Settings"
  5. Tap "Advanced" and select "Default storage"
  6. Select either "Device" or "Memory card"

Setting Default Memory Storage Location for Files Transferred via Nearby Devices (DLNA):

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Tap "More settings"
  4. Select "Nearby devices"
  5. Tap "Download to" and select either "Device" or "Memory card"

Opening or Deleting Files on Your SD Card:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select "My Files"
  3. Tap "All files"
  4. Select "extSdCard"
  5. Navigate to the desired file or folder, then tap the desired files to open them
  6. To delete files or folders, mark the checkbox(es) located at the left of each file and folder, then tap the "Trash can" icon located at the top of the display
  7. Confirm the action by pressing "OK"


Formatting the SD Card:

WARNING! Formatting the SD card will result in losing all the data that is saved on the card. Create backups if necessary. To learn how, follow these links regarding restoring and backing up apps, contacts, data and more.

To format the SD card:

  1. Tap the "Menu" button on your device while on the home screen
  2. Select "Settings" and tap "Storage"
  3. Under "SD card", press "Format SD card"
  4. Confirm your action by tapping "Format SD card" again. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the task
