Verizon's new update

I noticed that the volume on my phone was much lower. When making a call, I noticed that two new icons had been place on the person calling. One was for noise reduction and the other to increase call volume. Whenever you talk, the call volume always touches your face and is turned down. Before making a call, it is always on low and must be turned up before talking if you want to hear. It's a mess. What is the object of this? I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII. Thanks.

Are you saying that the recent update to Android 4.3 on your SIII has made the volume all wacky?
