Ok so here is my variation on the problem others are having...
I got a USB cable from Ebay (came in a orange box labled simply "USB DATA CABLE" but no real company name). I plugged it in, plugged my phone in, directed it to the drivers for the phone, it all went a-ok. However it seems that it has set up my phone on my computer as a modem and that is it...can't seem to figure out how to access any data off it. When I open BitPim I let it know what Com it is on and my phone info, but when I click on "detect phone" it says no phone detected/recognized.
HELP - I really want to play around with some pics/ringtones but this is just getting to be frusterating - any tips PLEASE??

Well I have the same problem, the only difference is that mine worked for a few days, but now it has the same problem that you have. What version of Windows are you using, mine is 2K Pro.
